The donation, which is part of the distribution of proceeds from the Authority’s Charity Ball that was held in November 2011, was welcomed by the Home.

“You came at the most convenient time when we were praying that someone should come and donate food to us,” said Mrs Mutiwokuziva, the Administrator at the Home.

“We thank you for your unfailing love, ZIMRA,” she added.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr Batsirai Chadzingwa, Regional Manager for Customs and Excise in Region 1, said that ZIMRA is prepared to help the less fortunate members of society whenever resources are available.

ZIMRA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme was started in 2001 at the inception of the Authority. The programme has so far benefitted several selected homes and individuals, who include Maud Chifamba, the 14-year old whizz-kid who has been admitted at the University of Zimbabwe.
