The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) joined other public and private organisations on 3rd August 2017, in a clean-up campaign which was aimed at inciting the public about waste management.

The clean-up campaign was attended by the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr David Parirenyatwa and the Minister of Local Governance, Public Works and National Housing Honourable Saviour Kasukuwere. Organisations that attended the campaign included the Zimbabwe Military Police, National Social Security Authority (NSSA), Steward Bank, Forestry Commission, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Co-corporation (ZBC) among others.

During the opening ceremony the guest of honour, Dr David Parirenyatwa, urged citizens to develop a cleaning attitude as this is going to help in making Harare a World Class City by 2025.

Dr Parirenyatwa said waste management can be a way of generating money.

The ZIMRA team cleaned George Silundika Street and left it tidy.

Clean up campaigns form part of corporate social responsibility - environmental initiatives which inspire and empower communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment.
