The donation was a fulfillment of pledges that ZIMRA made in December 2011 during the handover of a refrigerator, television set, pots, dishes, teapots and cutlery to the Home.

In his speech, ZIMRA Commissioner General, Mr Gershem Pasi, encouraged the children at the Home to aim higher and focus on their education Mr Pasi also encouraged the children to learn basic life skills such as sewing and knitting.

Two of the children from the Home have passed Advanced Level have already been enrolled at the National University of Science and Technology and the University of Zimbabwe respectively. ZIMRA has already pledged to offer financial support to these “Celebrated Children”.
