ZIMRA Region 2 scoops ZNCC Enterprise of the Year Award

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority’s Region 2 has won the Second Runner Up accolade at the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Enterprise of the Year 2017 Awards in the Public Enterprises Category. The prestigious award was in recognition of the Authority’s contribution to Ease of Doing Business in the country, and the various programmes the Authority has put in place to improve revenue collections.

Speaking at the award ceremony, which was held on 9 June 2017 in Bulawayo, ZNCC Regional Manager, Mr Mduduzi Ncube, congratulated ZIMRA for winning the award.

“As a Chamber, we wish you the best in your future business activities and join the rest of the business community in Matabeleland Region in honouring you for a job well done”, said Mr Ncube.

 
APPOINTMENT OF VALUE ADDED WITHHOLDING TAX AGENTS

The ZIMRA Commissioner General has, in terms of Section 50A of the Value Added Tax Act [Chapter 23:12], appointed the Registered Operators listed below as Value Added Withholding Tax Agents with effect from 1 June 2017 and to commence withholding the tax from 1 July 2017. The agents are as follows:

 

 
Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Foreign Affairs Tours Beitbridge, Plumtree Border Posts

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Foreign Affairs visited Beitbridge and Plumtree Border Posts on 2 and 3 June 2017 respectively, as part of their ongoing familiarisation visits to the country’s border posts, to understand what ZIMRA and border agencies are doing to improve the ease of doing business and further regional integration programmes.

 

 
PAYE AND WITHHOLDING TAXES DUE DATE: 10 JUNE 2017

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) hereby reminds its valued clients that the due date for the payment of Employees’ Tax or Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and Withholding Taxes/Royalties for the month of May 2017 is 10th June 2017.

 

 
ZIMRA surpasses May revenue target

 

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has surpassed gross and net revenue targets for the month of May 2017 by 17 per cent and 11 per cent respectively due to intensified audits and enforcement activities, improvements in operational efficiency, and client engagement initiatives that are being undertaken to enhance revenue collections.
