Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA)
ZIMRA exceeds revenue target
Improved revenue collections for the first half of 2010 were attributed to significant improvement in economic activity, increased levels of compliance by clients and increased revenue collection efforts by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA). Notable progress has been recorded in the economy with particular reference to business confidence and capacity utilisation which has improved to around 35%.

This Bill will amend the Finance Act [Chapter 23:04], the Income Tax Act [Chapter 23:06], the Capital Gains Tax Act [Chapter 23:06], the Value Added Tax Act [Chapter 23:12] and the Customs and Excise Act [Chapter 23:02] and , the Mines and Minerals Act [Chapter 21:05].  In more detail, the individual clauses of the Bill provide as follows:

Blankets for a worthy cause
ZIMRA in its continuous efforts to lend a hand to the community through social responsibility initiatives recently visited Jairos Jiri home in Southerton and made a heartfelt donation of 150 blankets. The inmates at the home are now assured of sound sleep with a bit of comfort and warmth during this chilly winter season, after receiving a gift of blankets from the proceeds of last year’s ZIMRA Charity Ball.

ZIMRA moves a gear up in Tax, Customs modernisation
Modernisation of Customs and Tax administration has been singled out as a vital cog in revolutionising revenue management by most fiscal experts. In this vein, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has made strides in modernising its operations by implementing several tailor-made strategies and introducing innovative products.
Asycuda World roars into life at Beitbridge
As part of its ongoing process to facilitate trade and travel by improving convenience to the transacting public, ZIMRA has successfully migrated from Automated System for Customs Data++ (Asycuda ++) to Asycuda World at most of its ports of entry/exit. Beitbridge border post, arguably the busiest port south of the Sahara, becomes the latest port to run on Asycuda World following the implementation of the system on July 1 this year.
