Temporary Importation of Goods for use in the coverage of the forthcoming elections

Introduction

As we approach the elections date, we are expecting an influx of visitors into the country including foreign journalists covering the elections. To ensure smooth passage at the borders and avoid unnecessary delays at the borders, concerned stakeholders including clearing agents, diplomatic missions and ZIMRA officials are expected to adhere to the following guidelines.

The equipment

We anticipate that the visitors will bring in equipment such as cameras, video recording or filming equipment, drones, broadcasting equipment, food and other consumables.

 
ZIMRA exceeds 2018 H1 target

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority ZIMRA exceeded the revenue performance target for the first half of the year 2018 by 10.37 % largely owing to the stabilisation of the ASYCUDA World system, and the Authority’s anti-corruption stance.

TADAT training for ZIMRA staff

Members of the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) management and staff underwent an intensive training on Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT) courtesy of the TADAT secretariat in conjunction with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Commissioner for Customs and Excise – Mr Happias Kuzvinzwa

The Seventh Day Adventist Harare City Centre Church hosted a business symposium on 22 May 2018, wherein taxation policy was the main topic under discussion. True to the thrust of the business network meeting, the ZIMRA team led by the Commissioner for Customs and Excise – Mr Happias Kuzvinzwa – was in attendance.
