Commissioner General’s Tour of Duty

commissioner gen.jpg - 61.42 KbThe Commissioner General (CG), Mr Gershem Pasi’s tour of duty recently took him to remote ZIMRA stations such as Mphoengs and Maitengwe Border Posts – where he had the opportunity to appreciate the challenges which staff at these stations face. This is not the first time he has visited remote ZIMRA stations, but what made these visits important and crucial was that some important decisions which would ensure improved staff welfare at these stations were made.

Benevolent ZIMRA turns ripples into tidal waves

sister mutya.jpg - 82.68 KbTinotenda Mutya sits on my lap and holds my jersey so tight like it is a grip of somebody holding on to life. I look at her and feel a painful knot in my throat as I cuddle her. Looking at her, I appreciate an adorable, lovely and pretty child who needs not just a good upbringing, but above all virtue. The look in her eyes tells the story of someone looking for belonging, care and most importantly, love.

netballgoal.jpg 1.jpg - 40.98 KbIt is only a few days to go to the National Showdown where national divides are going to be crossed as all roads lead to The City of Kings – Bulawayo – for this Year’s Edition of the Health and Safety Sports Gala to be held from the 22nd of August to the 24th of August. The stage has been set as on Friday the 08th of August all the Station National Representatives met at Mhlahlandlela Government Complex to deliberate on the fixtures and programme of the event in a setup that left the gathering with folded hands as all was now left for the ball to trundle, whistle to be blown and guns to be blazed come next week. In case it may not have hit your head, the Health and Safety Gala is right here in Bulawayo and the gusto is building up in one of the following disciplines and events:

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

WATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT FOR HARARE CITY COUNCIL

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) wishes to set the record straight in connection with misleading and incorrect reports in the print and electronic media purporting that rehabilitation work at Morton Jaffrey Water Works has been stalled by ZIMRA.

The reports, which were published in The Herald, Daily News and Newsday on 15 July 2014 and also broadcast by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s (ZBC) radio and television stations claiming that the water project has been stalled by the impounding of water equipment by ZIMRA, are totally incorrect.

The correct position is that no such equipment is being held by ZIMRA either at Forbes Border Post or at any other ZIMRA station. No clearance documentation has been submitted to ZIMRA by the importer or the importer’s clearing agent.

As such, ZIMRA cannot be said to be stalling the water project when the importation of the said equipment has not yet been brought to its attention for processing in accordance with the laws of the country.
